Dr Amit Bhatt is currently the Pro Vice Chancellor at DSU. He got his BE from the MS University of Baroda, MS from Duke University and PhD from the NC State University. He has more than 30 years of experience in academia as well as industry, both in India and abroad. He was the founding faculty member of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of ICT (DAIICT). In 2004 he served as a Fulbright scholar in UIUC.

He had industry stint in Cadence and ARM for about 6 years. After rejoining academics, he founded a startup called Treepie Computing. In 2016, it was judged as one of the top 10 startups in India by a combined jury of Qualcomm and Nasscom. His areas of interest include Processor design, Low power VLSI design, AI/ML and software development for multi-core processors. He has a passion for institution building. He has more than 70 publications in reputed journals. He has served on the board of studies and academic council in a number of institutes.
