Library Services
Library of DSU School of Basic & Applied Sciences offers many services in support of academic and research work. Library is located at the 3rd floor at ‘A’ block in the university and has a carpet area of about 10, 000 sq. ft. with 200+ seating capacity. Entire library is connected through LAN & Wi-Fi.
Circulation:
Most useful and fast moving books are placed in this section and Library provides general (open) access to its collections. Each rack in this section has Shelf guides which will help our readers to find the required books easily and quickly.
- Books are issued to all eligible members as per their entitlements Books are issued for 15 days to students and 1 semester for faculty. (No renewal option for faculty members).
- Along with books, CDs & DVDs are issued at Circulation Section.
Renewal Procedures:
An issued book can be renewed online for a period of 15 days, if online renewal once done, then the book has to be physically brought to the library for re-issue. If the book has been reserved by any other person, then the book cannot be renewed. No renewal option for faculty members.
Online Reservations:
The library provides the facility to reserve books through our online portal available through OPAC. (http://172.25.11.159/opac) Library members can search for the availability of the required book through the above portal and subsequently reserve them by logging in through their member ID.
Reference:

The Library maintains separate reference collections consisting of Text books, rare books, Reference books, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Directories, Handbooks, General Studies & etc. All library members has the separate reference membership to access reference collections. Reference books are issued for overnight if there is a need.
Along with books, CDs & DVDs are issued at Reference Section

Digital Library:
Digital library is having 18 Computers, through these Computers School of Basic & Applied Sciences Students, research scholars & faculty members can access subscribed online databases, e-books, e-journals and other digitized resources. Windows operating system is being installed in all the computers in digital library.
IR (INSTITUTIONAL REPOSITORY): Soft copies of previous question papers, ebooks available through library OPAC.
Journals:

The Library receives a total No. of 6 Print journals. The Journal titles have been arranged as per the subject wise

Reprography & Stationary:
Higher end photo copier machines are installed; quality papers are used with nominal charges. Service extended like:

- Scanning
- Spiral binding

E-learning Section:
The "E-learning Section" in a library is a designated area where students can use their personal laptops. This section is equipped with charging points and LAN cables for convenient access to power and the internet.
Private Study Zones:
There are three private study zones in the library and these are open for DSU students, research scholars & faculty members. Each room has LCD Monitor and LAN (internet) connection for personal laptops to prepare & practice seminars and project works. Nowadays more readers prefer to sit & study in this kind of study rooms.
KINDLE SMART E-READING ZONE SERVICE:
The new library facility has been expanded with the addition of four e-readers, enabling access to over 1.5 million e-books. These e-books cover a wide range of subjects, including Engineering & Technology, Medical, Business Management, and more. Some notable features of the Kindle e-readers are outlined below:
