Under the aegis of the Distinguished Speaker Series, Executive Education, Dayananda Sagar University brings to you a session of Saketh BSV who is the co-founder of Perpule, one of the fastest-growing retail tech companies in India. Saketh spoke about “How is the start-up community coping during the COVID-19 pandemic?” This speaker series strives to bring the best minds to our classroom and expose our students to thoughtful leaders from across the world.

He has answered the questions from many of the participants and helped them to understand that this is high time to come out of the comfort zone and think differently to beat the competition by taking first-mover advantage. This will help them to increase their business opportunities 100x times.

Saketh's company; Perpule has raised investment from notable investors like Kalaari Capital, Prime Ventures, & Venture Highway. Perpule helps make offline stores smarter, by creating a data first platform that improves consumer experience across all channels which include Point of Sale and Self-Checkout. The company has previously launched India’s first “cashier-less, cash-till less” store along with Hyper CITY last year.

It has notable clients like Big Bazaar, Shoppers Stop, SPAR, etc. to its name. Saketh graduated from IIT Madras in 2015, worked at Goldman Sachs, and currently manages the Product and Engineering team for Perpule. He has been recognized by selection to the prestigious Forbes 30 under 30 Asia 2018 list.

Under the aegis of the Distinguished Speaker Series, Executive Education, Dayananda Sagar University, Celebrated author, executive coach and professor Chester Elton spoke to us from New York City on "Leading With Gratitude and Creating A Great Culture". These speaker series strives to bring the best minds to our classroom and expose our students to thoughtful leaders from across the world.

After Chester Elton completed his view on Leadership, there was Q&A session as well. Mr. Elton answered the questions from many of the participants and helped them enhance their understanding of leadership.

Chester Elton has spent two decades helping clients engage their employees to execute on strategy, vision, and values. He has been called the “apostle of appreciation” by Canada’s Globe and Mail, “creative and refreshing‚” by the New York Times, and a “must-read for modern managers” by CNN. Elton is co-author of the multiple award-winning New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling leadership book- All In, The Carrot Principle, and The Best Team Wins. His books have been translated into more than 30 languages and have sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.

Elton is often quoted in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Fast Company and the New York Times. He has appeared on NBC’s Today, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, National Public Radio and CBS’s 60 Minutes. As part of the Distinguished Speaker Series curated and arranged by Executive Education, Dayananda Sagar University, Dr. Pierre Al-Khoury, Professor & Dean, Lebanese German University, spoke on the incumbent global pandemic and how it would impact careers with particular reference to India.

His talk was followed by Q&A, and Dr. Al-Khoury fielded questions from many of the 150 participants, mainly comprising of faculty, staff, and students of the Executive MBA and full-time MBA programs.

The Distinguished Speaker Series invites persons of eminence to speak to our student community on carefully chosen topics of importance in order to kindle intellectual thought and debate.

Pierre has around 30 years of diverse education management and industry experience mainly developed in central banking. Multicultural, with a proven ability to work and live with people from different backgrounds. He has published around 25 scientific papers in international refereed journals, mainly in the management field, with a special concentration on education management. He has published 5 books in education management with sound international publishers in Europe and the States.


Developing New Managers

Management is distinguished as the level of supervision between the entry level employees and organizational leaders. Residing between effective leadership and efficient employees, effective managers are critical to organizational success. Different paths to becoming a manager exist—either through the ranks or through outside accomplishments.
