Associate Professor

Dr. Saravana Bavan, got his Ph.D in the area of Natural Fibre Composites from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, (NITK), Surathkal under Research Fellowship from MHRD, India. He got his Masters degree in CAD/CAM, from Anna University and Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University. He has more than six years of experience in Industrial/Teaching/Research. He has published more than seven papers in reputed international journals and sixteen research publications and international proceedings, participated and presented papers in more than 16 international and national conferences in India and abroad (Cal Poly Tech University-USA, Imperial College-UK, Universiti Teknologi-Malaysia and Kumamoto University-Japan). He has published four book chapters in reputed international publications (CRC press, Taylor and Francis group, Pan Stanford Publishers). He has attended more than 4 international workshops and summer schools and assisted in organizing seminars, workshop and conferences. One of this papers won the best paper award and he was awarded Young Researcher award from IIT-M, IIT-G, International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and Mahatma Gandhi University. Nominated for Who’s Who in the World - 2012 and reviewer for more than four reputed international journals.

His areas of interests include, Manufacturing Science, Natural Fibre Composites, Composites, Powder Metallurgy, Finite Element Method, Polymers and Characterization Techniques.
