Dr. Smeeta Shrestha
Assistant Professor
Dr Smeeta Shrestha has got her PhD degree in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology from the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her PhD work was on generating and characterising a Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 9A (TTC9A) gene knockout mouse model which is a progesterone receptor regulated gene, in breast cancer cells. She has published 3 papers using the TTC9A knock out mice and successfully submitted the mouse line to the Mutant Mouse Resources and Research Centre (MMRC) supported by the National Institute of Health (NIH),USA. She further joined as a post doctoral fellow at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad to pursue research on the genetic and epigenetic aspects of complex diseases in humans.
