Dr. Sreenivasa Rao Amaraneni is working as professor in the department of chemistry, school of engineering, Dayananda Sagar University. He worked as HOD of Chemistry department, DSATM. He has received M.Sc degree in Inorganic chemistry and Ph.D in chemistry from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He has about 27 years of teaching and research experience. He is awardee of International Fellowships includes DAAD (Germany), Royal Society fellowship (UK) & Royal Society of Chemistry Developing World Fellowship (UK) to carry out the research work at Humboldt University (Germany), University of Edinburgh (Scotland), University of Nottingham (England), respectively. And also, he is awardee of Vising Scholar Fellowship to teach course and research in Finland University for 2 months in 2021,2022,2023, 2024 etc. and also academic visit to City University of Hong Kong. He is also awardee of National fellowships like IASc, JNCASR and INSA visiting scientist fellowship to carry out research work at CDFD, Hyderabad, JNCASR, Bangalore and JNU, New Delhi, respectively.

His research interests are interdisciplinary areas includes Analytical & Environmental Chemistry, Nanomaterials for Water Purification, Bioanalytical chemistry: characterisation of Protein and DNA Adducts with neurotoxicants like pesticides, PAHs &drugs etc; Phytochemistry & Environmental Biotechnology etc. He has received research fund for projects from AICTE – IKS Research Project for Rs. 16.8 lakhs (Co-investigator), UGC -DAE Project for Rs 45000 and completed research projects from VGST (Karnataka) project – Rs 20 lakhs (AT DSATM) ) and UGC Project 4.5 lakhs etc. He has completed consultancy projects (Rs 4,34,851 (projects from DERBI-DSU, Eureka Forbs / BRAQUA-CHEMS Private Limited’, Hyderabad/Aqua diagnostics /Logic Water India etc). He has published 25 peer-reviewed research papers in International and National Journals, 15 conference papers and also author for one book and chapter contribution for two books. He has filed Indian patent on water purification. He has established the research lab ‘Water Technology and Environmental Research Centre (WTERC-DSU) at DSU and guiding PhD and UG students. He has a research collaboration with the institutions like JNU, IMTech, NGRI and University of Nottingham Medical School Derby etc. He is reviewer for the research funding projects applications for AICTE -IKS, DST -SERB, UGC and evaluator for Royal Society of Chemistry, UK(RSC) – CSci/CChem Applications and expert committee member for Water Quality Standards Establishment for ICCW-IIT Madras and also, he is Mentors/Resource person for DST-Summer/Winter Camps and other DST- INSPIRE initiative programmes. He is reviewer for some of International and National Journals and adjudicator for Ph.D Thesis of different universities.

His professional affiliation includes Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Chartered Scientist (CSci) and Chartered Chemistry(CChem) awarded by Royal Society of Chemistry, UK and also member of American Chemical society (ACS), Indian Society of Remote Sensing, Indian Society of crystallography, Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry(SBIC),Biochemical Society(UK), Indian Society of Biological Chemistry etc . He is Mentors/Resource person for DST-Summer/Winter Camps and other DST-INSPIRE initiatives programmes.
