Dr. Subrahmanya S. Katte

Dr. Subrahmanya S. Katte completed his Diploma in Metallurgy from VISSJ Polytechnic Bhardravati in 1985, B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from JNN College of Engineering, Shimoga in 1992, M.E. in Thermal Plant Engineering from PDA College of Engineering, Gulbarga in 1996, and Ph.D. from IIT Madras in 2001.
Dr. Katte has a total experience of over 24 years. He served SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur for about 15 years in various capacities from Lecturer to Professor and Associate Dean. He was with PES Institute of Technology, for a period of one academic year as Professor and Head, BTL Institute of Technology and Management for a period of 1.5 years as Professor and Head, and Vice Principal. He also served PESIT South Campus / PES University Electronic City Campus for a period of over 7.5 years as Professor and Head / Chairperson.

Dr. Katte has taught / introduced over 20 courses in the domain of thermo-fluids, with a few courses overlapping with Aerospace Engineering: the likes of Thermodynamics, Applied Thermodynamics, Turbomachines, Heat Transfer, Transport Processes in Boiling & Two-Phase Flow, Conduction and Radiation, Fluid Mechanics, Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Compressible Flow, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Aerodynamics.

Dr. Katte carries computational and experimental research in the area of Heat Transfer for Space Applications. He has over 25 international journal and conference publications indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, published by reputed houses like AIAA, ASME, IIETA, ASTFE, Elsevier, and Wiley. He has carried out three funded projects for ISRO and DST, which were used for thermal protection system and equipment bay of GSLV of ISRO. He has guided one Ph.D. scholar and one M.S. (by Research) scholar and presently guiding two Ph.D. scholars.

Dr. Katte develops and administers web interface for institutional administration using open source php content management frameworks.
