Welcome Message
Pesticides have been in use for more than three decades in agriculture and public health programs all over the world. India is one of the highest manufacturers of pesticides and consumption of pesticides in the world. The consumption of the pesticides in India is increasing year by year. Pesticides usage in agriculture and other public health programmes for the purpose of insects control results in an increase of the yield of agriculture products and to control vector diseases.
The indiscriminate and excessive use of pesticide will contaminate the drinking water, food, soil and air environment. One of the main factors for chemicals contamination of environment today is with pesticides including insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. Humans experience continuous occupational or environmental exposure to pesticides which may cause serious human health effects, particularly cancer and neurodegenerative diseases etc.
The pollution control of pesticide has significance due to its scientific and social impact. Scientific and technological research can give a decisive contribution to reduce the impact of pesticide pollution on environment and human health. The international conference on the "Potential Impact of Pesticides on Environment and Human Health" at Dayananda Sgar University will be focus to explore the technology and scientific methods while promoting strategies for the developed and developing countries on sustainable agriculture practice to reduce the pesticide impact on the environment and human health.
