School of Law

Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), a private university established in 2014, is home to a first of its kind innovation-centered law school in the heart of India’s Silicon City, Bengaluru. The University builds on the rich legacy of the Dayananda Sagar Institution (DSI) which was founded in the 1960s. DSI currently houses 18,000 students across several disciplines. Located in Bangalore, the School of Law draws from not only the vast interdisciplinary resources of the University but also those of the city itself, affording students incomparable industry exposure. Our students will complete their legal training fully equipped to step into their roles as lawyers of the new age.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

. BA. LLB (Hons) and BBA. LLB(Hons) : 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Based on CLAT, LSAT, or DSLAT Scores


. LL. B: An applicant who has graduated in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for a three years’ degree program in law leading to conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular program conducted by a University whose degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment.

Dr. Souvik Roy

Dr Roy has 13 years of experience in academia & industry including teaching law at national law university. He is a public speaker who addresses not only matters pertaining to substantive criminal law across various platforms pan India. He has participated in more than 30 national/international seminars and conferences with multiple publications to his name which are indexed in UGC CARE, Scopus and peer-reviewed journals.

Samudyata Sreenath

Associate Professor and Associate Dean (Academics)
Qualifications: BA.LLB (Hons) (Jindal), MSc in Social Anthropology (Oxford).

Samudyata Sreenath

Samudyata Sreenath's focus is on interdisciplinary studies and pedagogy. Her work broadly examines how external structures interact with and shape different aspects of identity formation. She is also interested in the relationship between religious beliefs and political action. At DSU, Samudyata offers courses on legal and political anthropology, and Science, Technology and Society (STS).

Dr. Sahana Reddy

Dr Sahana is a prolific researcher with multiple national and international publications to her name. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades during her career which spans over a decade including the ‘Doctor Award’ from ICSSR amongst many other prestigious recognitions. She takes immense interest in political science, applied economics, trade, commerce, public policy, international law etc.

Shivani Dutta

Ms Shivani Dutta is currently pursuing her doctoral studies from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. She pursued her BA.LL.B from M. S. Ramaiah College of Law, Bangalore. She completed her LL.M (Gold Medal) from National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). She started her academic career with NEF Law College, Guwahati and as a guest faculty at NLUJA, Assam. Prior to this she worked as an Asst. Prof.at IFIM Law School & Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru.

Saraswathy Vaidyanathan

Saraswathy is an Assistant Professor of Law at Dayananda Sagar University School of Law. She has completed her LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Edinburgh and B.A. LLB. (Hons.) from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. Prior to being a full-time academician, Saraswathy has worked as a full-time research fellow at CUSAT, Kerala and CIIPC, NLUD.
