Assistant Professor
Dr. Manjula N G is currently working as Assistant Professor in Microbiology in School of Basic and Applied Sciences. Has experience both in research and teaching. She has worked as research assistant on “Role of T - cells and Humoral factors in immune mediated damage in Guillian Barre syndrome”, Department of Neuromicrobiology and Immunology, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). She has hands on experience on the detection of immunoglobulins by immunoelectrophoresis, cytokine-ELISA, AChR ELISA, SDS- PAGE and western blotting.
She has done her Undergraduation and Post -graduation in Microbiology from Gulbarga University, Karnataka. A rank holder and gold medalist in both UG and PG. She has been awarded PhD in Medical Microbiology, from Department of Microbiology, Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. On the topic entitled” Etiology of the urinary tract infections in pregnant women from different parts of Karnataka and their molecular characterization”. Her doctoral research work was entailed with Multidrug resistance uropathogens, which were unravelled for molecular characterization of antibiotic resistance genes for ESβL and MβL genes. Various uropathogenic genes described has been sequenced and has been submitted with Genbank, accession numbers have been obtained. Her studies has given an insight of resistance patterns and treatment options in pregnancy. Has presented research papers in national and international conferences.
