College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, had organised Guest lecture on ‘A curious life of native inositol trisphosphate receptors - consequences for calcium signalling' On 01st April, 2019 between 2.00 -4.00 pm at CD Sagar Auditorium, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru.
The speaker of the session Dr. Nagendra Babu Thillaiappan, M.Sc (Oxon), Ph.D (Cantab) is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK.
Dr. Nagendra Babu explained about the consequences for calcium signalling with respect to native inositol triphosphate receptors. He demonstrated numerous examples and the published works from his laboratory. Also, he briefed about the opportunities the students of DSU can look forward for their higher studies in UK.
Around 120 students attended the programme including Pharm.D, B. Pharm, M. pharm of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and few students of Department of Lifesciences also attended the guest lecture.
The students had an interactive session with the speaker after the talk and discussed about the ongoing research work in DSU and received valuable suggestions from the renowned speaker Dr. Nagendra Babu.
It is appreciated by the students and staff of College of Pharmaceutical Sciences that Mr. Vimal John Samuel, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences made an effort for inviting such an eminent speaker to have an interaction with our students.
The speaker Dr. Nagendra Babu thanked the Dean and the Management of Dayananda Sagar University for their invitation to present a guest lecture in the university and also was happy with the interest of students of DSU relating to their research perspective.
