Mr. Abhisek Midya
Senior Assistant Professor
Abhisek Midya is an academician and researcher in Theoretical Computer Science, with primary research interests in Automata Theory, Logic in Computer Science, Formal Verification. He did MTech, Tech in Computer science & engineering. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus.
His current research focuses on the logical and algebraic characterization of quantum automata, particularly the study of quantum computational models through logical, algebraic, and verification-theoretic approaches. He is also actively engaged in the study of extended finite-state classical automata, including register automata, timed automata, and related computational models, exploring their expressive power, logical characterization, and algorithmic properties.
His research experience includes both international and nationally funded projects. He worked as a Scientific Researcher at the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (iCIS), Radboud University, The Netherlands, contributing to an NWO-funded research project on formal methods and automata learning. Earlier, he served as a Research Fellow at VIT University, Vellore, in DST-funded research. He has published research articles in leading international venues, including SCI-indexed journals such as Theoretical Computer Science (Elsevier), as well as Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and internationally recognized CORE-ranked conferences.
He is currently serving as a Senior Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at reputed institutions including Jain University and R. V. College of Engineering (RVCE), along with other higher educational institutions. Over the years, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Automata Theory, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, and other core subjects in Computer Science.
