Mr. Amartya Das
Assistant Professor
Mr. Amartya Das is an academician and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering with interests in Federated Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Explainable AI, Internet of Things (IoT), and Intelligent Healthcare Systems. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, and student mentoring.
He has completed his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, and his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology (GUIST), Guwahati. His primary research focuses on Federated Learning for healthcare applications, particularly developing privacy-preserving and robust learning frameworks for ECG arrhythmia classification under heterogeneous and non-IID data distributions.
In addition to Federated Learning, Mr. Das has worked on lightweight and explainable intrusion detection systems for resource-constrained IoT environments. His research explores the application of machine learning and Explainable AI techniques to enhance cybersecurity, model transparency, and deployment efficiency in intelligent systems.
His technical expertise includes Python, C, C++, JavaScript, and React.js. He qualified GATE 2024 in Computer Science and Information Technology and presented his research at the 1st International Conference on Statistics, Data Science and Optimization (ICSDO-2026). He is keen on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare Systems, Cybersecurity, and Trustworthy Computing.
