Assistant Professor

Mr. Athul K is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science). He holds an M.Tech in Cloud Computing from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from North Malabar Institute of Technology, Kerala.

His academic and research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Computer Vision, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Data Analytics, and DevSecOps. He has worked on projects involving secure cloud-native infrastructures for Intelligent Transportation Systems and machine learning-based handwritten character recognition systems.

He has earned industry-recognized certifications in Cloud Architecture, Cloud Development, Cloud Operations, Data Engineering, Cloud Security, and Data Analytics from Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. He is proficient in Python, C, C++, SQL, and R, and has hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, and Power BI.

He is committed to fostering innovation, critical thinking, and practical learning among students while promoting research-oriented education and industry-relevant technical skills. His goal is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and emerging technologies, preparing students for successful careers in the rapidly evolving field of computing.
