Dr. G. Hemanth Kumar

Associate Professor

Dr. G. Hemanth Kumar is an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, specializing in Cyber Security, at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University. He is a distinguished academician and researcher, as well as a technology enthusiast, with over 12 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He received his Ph.D. in Wireless Communications in 2022 and his M. Tech from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, in 2010. He also holds an Advanced Postgraduate Executive Program in Cybersecurity from IIIT Bangalore. Additionally, he has completed several certifications, including ISC2-Cybersecuorty Certification and CISCO Networking Academy's Cybersecurity program, which have further enhanced his expertise in these domains.

His research primarily focuses on Cybersecurity, particularly IoT security, network security, and wireless communications. With a notable H-index, he has authored numerous publications in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals. Over the years, he has accumulated several achievements, including multiple patents in cybersecurity for 6G systems and IoT-based automation. He has successfully led funded projects such as aquaculture automation using IoT. In addition to his role at Dayananda Sagar University, he serves as a visiting faculty member for Amrita University’s online IoT degree program, further extending his influence in technology education.

As a corporate trainer, he is recognized for his leadership in training programs that advance the knowledge of faculty, students, and industry professionals. Elevated to Senior Member of IEEE in 2022, he has been a resource person for various national and international workshops on IoT, cybersecurity, and embedded systems. As a Senior Member of IEEE, Bangalore Section, he continues to contribute to conferences, frequently chairing sessions and presenting cutting-edge research on emerging technologies.
