Dr. Pradeep Kumar Badiya
Assistant Professor
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Badiya is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Dayananda Sagar University. He completed Bachelor of Science Honors (B.Sc. Hons), Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Chemistry from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), India. He obtained his Ph.D. in the area of Plasmonics, Bioprocessing and Analytical Chemistry under BSR Fellowship (UGC-India) from SSSIHL in 2017. He has played an active role in the setting-up of Microbial Bioprocessing Laboratory and Plasmonics Laboratory (now STAR Lab, CRIF) at SSSIHL. During his Ph.D. program, he has worked on development of plasmonics technology and microbes fortified biosorbents based analytical methods for efficient integrated bioprocessing. He went on to work as Research Associate (Dec-2017 to Aug-2020) at SSSIHL towards the development of a cellphone based point-of-care device to quantify biomarkers for perinatal depression in women. Following which, he worked as Research Associate (Sep-2020 to Apr-2022) at SSSIHL on a biomedical research project on Rapid Estimation of COVID-19 based on Ultrasensitive Emission Detection. Two rapid antigen and antibody detecting kits have developed during this time and they received ICMR approval. Before joining DSU, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Badiya was working as Post-doctoral Researcher at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan on the development of graphene based sensors using Nano electronic mechanics (NEM) technology. He has more than 5 years of research experience and vast exposure. He has 2 patents, 18 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, 17 conference papers and authored 1 book. His current research interests are Semiconductor Device Fabrication, Nanoelectromechanical systems, Nanomaterials & Nanotechnology for Sensing Applications, Plasmonics-SPCE, Biostatistics, Bioprocessing & fermentation, and Clinical & Bio-Medical Research.
