Dr. Rupam Bhaduri

Dr. Rupam Bhaduri is an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (NIT-Durgapur), an Institute of National Importance under the Government of India. He earned his M.Tech. in Control Systems from MIT, MAHE, recognized as an Institute of Eminence by the Government of India. Dr. Bhaduri pursued his Ph.D. at NIT-Durgapur, focusing on Electromagnetic Levitation Systems, particularly in the areas of control systems, power converters, and optimization techniques, under external mentor from IIT-Kharagpur.
Dr. Bhaduri began his professional journey in the thermal power plant industry, where he accumulated extensive real-time industrial experience. He contributed significantly to projects for leading organizations such as BHEL-ISG, L&T-ECC, Bajaj Electricals, and Schneider Electric. Transitioning to academia, he went on to lead NBA-MHRD-accredited Electrical Engineering departments at two reputed institutes and held various roles, including Head of Department and Professor, across several institutions in India.
His scholarly achievements are distinguished by numerous accolades, including multiple Best Paper Awards and the prestigious TATA RAO Award, presented at the 28th Indian Engineering Congress. He has served on confidential review committees for esteemed R&D agencies and has acted as Co-Principal Investigator for projects funded by DST-SERB and IE(India). Currently, he is engaged in a high-profile project under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. This project, a collaborative consortium under the IC-MAP initiative, involves partnerships with IITs, NITs, and CSIR labs.
Dr. Bhaduri has an impressive portfolio of publications in top-tier, Q1-ranked journals globally. He serves as a reviewer for several SCI and SCOPUS-indexed journals, including those published by the IET (Wiley Publishers, UK), Springer-Nature (USA and Germany), and Taylor & Francis (UK). He has delivered expert lectures in AICTE-funded ATAL Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) at premier institutes such as NITs. He is a Life Member of the Institution of Engineers (India), as well as a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA.
His research interests span diverse and cutting-edge fields, including Electromagnetic Levitation Systems, Control Systems and Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Machine Learning Techniques, Computer and Robotic Vision, as well as Soft Computing and Optimization Techniques.
