Associate Professor

Dr. Shashikiran V has completed his bachelors in engineering specializing in computer Science and Engineering securing First class with distinction from University of Madras. He had profound interest in Electric circuit theory, Electromagnetic Theory, and Signal processing while pursuing his bachelors. In due course of time, teaching subjects like Digital circuits, Computer Architecture, Operating System, and Database Systems provided holistic understanding of software-hardware co-design. He has passed out Master’s degree in computer Science and Engineering securing First class with distinction from Anna University. Master’s degree provided him a solid foundation in Logic, Probability theory, Operation research and their applications in various research domains. He worked for a brief period as Teaching assistant and simultaneous pursued research, and completed PhD from College of Engineering, Guindy Anna University. Fault tolerance, Reliability engineering, and Digital Design for Testability were part of his PhD Course work.

His research interest is diverse covering subjects such as Computer Architecture, Microcontrollers, Digital logic and System design, Database systems, Data science, Machine learning and Optimization techniques. He has published many papers in international conferences and journals. He is also interested in exploring different optimization problems such as (a) Linear programming problem (b) Quadratic programming (c) Geometric programming (d) Stochastic programming and (d) Heuristic algorithmic approaches and their suitability for multi-core system to optimize power, area and performance. To summarize, He is interested in doing research in providing fault tolerance solutions for processor cores, memory (SRAM and DRAM), register file and interconnection logic. He would like to explore more on Optimization theory and Bio-inspired algorithms to gain expertise in the same.
