Dr. D Sumathi

Professor

Dr. D. Sumathi is a distinguished academic and researcher with over 23 years of professional experience, including 6 years in the industry and 17 years in academia. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering (Information and Communication Engineering) from Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her current research interests span Cloud Computing, Cryptography and Network Security, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Theoretical Foundations of Computer Science, and Cyber Security. Dr. D.Sumathi has published numerous research papers in SCI/SCIE/SCOPUS-indexed international journals, and conferences. She has also contributed book chapters published by renowned publishers such as CRC Press, IGI Global, Springer, and IET. She has published several patents aimed at community welfare. Under her guidance, undergraduate projects have achieved notable success, including winning at the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024. She has successfully supervised three Ph.D. scholars and is currently guiding two research scholars working on deep learning applications in biomedical and agricultural domains. Dr. Sumathi has received prestigious research awards for her contributions to publishing papers and patents. Dr. Sumathi has taken on various administrative roles throughout her academic tenure. She has organized several international conferences, acted as Technical Chair, and presented tutorials. She is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). She is serving as reviewer for various Journals. She possesses expertise in managing campus-connected software systems and has played a pivotal role in leveraging technology during her tenure in previous organizations. She has delivered various guest lectures and invited talks in several institutions. Dr. D. Sumathi continues to make significant contributions to her field, combining her vast experience with innovative research and impactful academic initiatives.
