Dr. Vanaja K has completed Ph.D in Pharmaceutics from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, with the Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Was awarded DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) fellowship to pursue postdoctoral research and also was invited as visiting scientist at University of Tuebingen, Germany. She has completed post-doctoral fellowship at Western University of Health Sciences, California, USA. With 18 years of teaching and 20 years of research experience, mentored M.Pharm and PharmD students, she has published about 30 research papers in peer-reviewed journals including 4 book chapters. Presented > 40 research papers at national and international conferences; received 4 best paper awards; invited to deliver scientific talks. She has been successful in receiving funding from the Federal governments of Germany (DAAD- material grant and Erwin-Reisch Stiftung) and India (ICMR, DBT-BIRAC,Tuberculosis Association of India and RGUHS) to carry out research work on lipid based nanoformulations. Her area of research includes lipid biophysics, drug delivery systems, pharmacology and pharmacokinetics including cell based assays for treating diseases which include psoriasis, arthritis, ventilator acquired pneumonia and HIV infection.
