Dr. Pooja S. Dodamani is an academician, researcher, and industry professional with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Medical Image Analysis, Deep Learning, Cloud Computing, and DevOps Engineering. She possesses over a decade of blended experience across academia, technical training, research, cloud technologies, and software engineering, bringing together strong academic knowledge and practical industry expertise.
She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Christ University, Bengaluru, where her doctoral research focused on AI-driven osteoporosis detection using medical X-ray images. Her research contributed novel methodologies in medical image enhancement, bone segmentation, transformer-based classification, and intelligent healthcare systems. She also earned her M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte (VTU), and a B.E. in Information Science and Engineering from VTU, Karnataka.
Dr. Dodamani has extensive professional experience in Cloud Computing and DevOps Engineering, where she has worked on cloud infrastructure management, CI/CD automation, containerization technologies, deployment automation, and cloud-native solutions. Her industry exposure enables her to effectively bridge theoretical concepts with real-world applications, particularly in Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, and DevOps practices. In addition to her industry experience, she has served as a Technical Trainer and Mentor, delivering training programs in Java, Database Management Systems, Web Technologies, Programming, and Project Development. She has guided numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students in academic projects, technical skill development, and research-oriented learning.
Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Medical Image Processing, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Vision, Explainable AI, Cloud Computing, DevOps Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data Visualization. She has published several research papers in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals and international conferences. Her notable contributions include the development of the OXRAY database for osteoporosis diagnosis, Attention Multi-Res U-Net based bone segmentation, Grey Wolf Optimization guided image denoising techniques, and Vision Transformer-based classification models for automated osteoporosis detection.
Dr. Dodamani actively participates in academic and research activities, including publishing research articles in reputed journals and conferences, guiding undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, developing laboratory modules and practical sessions, conducting workshops and technical training programs, and mentoring students in research and innovation activities. She regularly participates in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), seminars, workshops, and conferences, and contributes to interdisciplinary research initiatives in healthcare AI and intelligent diagnostic systems. She is also actively involved in curriculum development and outcome-based education practices.
