Assistant Professor

Prajwal S P is an academician and researcher in Computer Science and Engineering with research interests in Blockchain Technology, Smart Contracts, and Decentralized Applications. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, where he is actively engaged in teaching and research.

He completed his M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from University B.D.T College of Engineering, Davangere (CGPA: 8.6), and his B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere.

Prior to joining Dayananda Sagar University, he served as a Lecturer at Bapuji Polytechnic, Davanagere, where he also worked as the Placement Coordinator for the Computer Science and Engineering department. He also gained industry exposure as a Software Developer Trainee at PEOL Technologies, Bengaluru, where he worked on SAP ABAP programs, reports, and data dictionary objects.

His work includes decentralized systems built on Ethereum and IPFS, such as a Blockchain-Based Carbon Credit Trading System with ERC-20 token incentives and a decentralized marketplace for peer-to-peer carbon credit trading, D-Drive, a blockchain-based decentralized file storage system with smart-contract access control, and a blockchain-enabled framework for secure and decentralized medical data sharing. These projects demonstrate the practical application of blockchain technology for secure, transparent, and decentralized solutions. His research paper on D-Drive was presented at the International Conference DRISHTI 2025, held at Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, Puttur. He has also published papers on smart contract architecture and security, and on identifying and upgrading legacy components in IoT devices to enhance cybersecurity, along with technical articles on balanced tree data structures (Red-Black, Weight-Balanced, and Height-Balanced Trees).

He is keen on interdisciplinary and applied research at the intersection of blockchain technology, decentralized systems, and cybersecurity, and is committed to fostering practical, industry-relevant learning among students.
