Dr. Princy Randhawa
Associate Professor
Dr. Princy Randhawa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. She earned her Ph.D. in Wearables using AI&/ML from Manipal University Jaipur, Rajasthan, an MBA in Business Analytics and Data Science, an M.Tech. in Control Systems from Manipal Institute of Technology, and a B.Tech. in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation from Jammu University.
She has published 23 peer-reviewed journal papers, contributed 6 book chapters, and presented her research at more than 20 national and international conferences. Many of her works appear in reputed SCI/SCIE, Scopus, and Web of Science indexed outlets, including IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, Journal of Sensors, Engineered Science, and Current Urology Reports.
Her research primarily focuses on machine learning, wearable technology, and control systems, with applications in human safety, healthcare, smart IoT systems, robotics, and industrial AI. She is also a co-inventor of several patents, including Smart Ortho Suit, Smart Belt to Detect Abdominal Cancer, Arthritis Ortho-Band, and IoT-enabled Anti-Theft Devices.
She received the Dr. Ramdas Pai Professional Excellence Award (2023–24), the All-Rounder Award (Best Teacher, Administrator, and Researcher) at Manipal University Jaipur (2022–23), and multiple Best Paper Awards including Wiley’s Advanced Materials Synthesis, Characterization and Applications (AMSCA)-2025 held at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea. She also received SERB Travel Grant (2023) to present her work at the 9th International Conference on Information Management at Oxford University, UK. Furthermore, she was a co-investigator in an ICSSR-sponsored research project (₹20 lakhs) on Assessing the Potential of Agri-Tech Start-Up Ecosystem for Young Innovators in India under Vision Viksit Bharat@2047. She has served as Convener, Technical Committee Member, and Session Chair for prestigious conferences including IEEE ARIIA-2024, AICCoNS-2025, and ICISML-2022-2025 and also conducted ATAL FDP 3 times as a coordinator and co-coordinaor. She is also an active reviewer for Q1 and Q2 journals.
She has also conducted awareness programs on cancer, women’s sanitation and hygiene, and COVID-19 prevention at colleges and NGOs. She has also organized numerous faculty development programs, workshops, and international conferences, fostering collaboration across academia and industry and also she is a senior IEEE member too.
