Assistant Professor

Mr. Surajit Sahoo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, where he is actively involved in teaching and research. His academic interests lie at the intersection of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Science, and he is committed to fostering analytical and computational thinking among students.

He holds an M.Tech in Computing and Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Palakkad, and an M.Sc in Pure Mathematics from the University of Calcutta, where he also completed his B.Sc (Hons) in Mathematics. His strong mathematical foundation combined with rigorous training in computational methods enables him to contribute effectively to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

His research interests include Arithmetic Circuit Complexity, Algebraic Complexity Theory, Time-Series Analysis, and Graph Theory & Algorithms. He has contributed to research on lower bounds in arithmetic circuit complexity through explicit constructions of elusive maps, under the guidance of Dr. Krishnamoorthy Dinesh at IIT Palakkad. He also has research experience in Time Series Analysis, having co-authored a study on trend patterns, integration, and causality between crude oil prices and currency exchange rates.

His publications include a book chapter titled "A Study on Trend Pattern, Integration and Causality Between Crude Oil Prices, British & American Currency Exchange Rates with Respect to Indian Rupee" published in Recent Trends in Science – Platinum Jubilee Series (Walnut Publication, 2023). He has also served as a Teaching Assistant for the courses Data Structures and Algorithms, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and Introduction to Programming at IIT Palakkad, and previously worked as a Subject Matter Expert at Edufeat Private Limited.

Mr. Surajit Sahoo has demonstrated exceptional academic merit at the national level. He is WBSET qualified (2025), making him eligible for Assistant Professorship in West Bengal. He secured All India Rank 147 in GATE 2024 and All India Rank 548 in GATE 2023 in Mathematics, and also qualified IIT JAM 2022. His consistent performance across these competitive examinations reflects his deep subject expertise and commitment to academic excellence.
