Ms. Sweta Chopdar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, at Dayananda Sagar University, Karnataka. She has completed her M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Big Data Analytics from Vellore Institute of Technology.
She has contributed to multiple research and development projects in the areas of machine learning, big data, and AI-driven image processing. Her notable work includes the development of a Satellite-Based Natural Disaster Identification and Classification system using HOOI-based tensor compression and 3D CNNs for hyperspectral image analysis, an Efficient MRI Analysis Framework combining tensor compression, EANet, sub-pixel CNNs, and MixUp augmentation for tumor classification, and a Real-Time Music Recommendation System integrating PySpark and Kafka for scalable, fault-tolerant, and personalized music recommendations. This recommendation system was published in Pioneering Approaches in Data Management by IGI Global and recognized for addressing sparsity in collaborative filtering.
She is particularly focused on applying theoretical concepts in real-world scenarios and aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Her areas of research interest include Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Hyperspectral Image Analysis, Recommender Systems, and Healthcare Image Processing. She is passionate about integrating emerging technologies into teaching and research, and fostering innovation and problem-solving skills among students.
