Mr. Vikas Vishwakarma

Associate Professor

Vikas Vishwakarma is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru.

He has completed his M.Tech in Information Technology from IIIT Allahabad, with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. He also holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior.

His research interests span Generative AI, Object Detection, Diffusion Models, and Computer Vision. During his M.Tech, he developed advanced systems such as a Super-Resolution GAN using perceptual loss functions, a real-time object tracking pipeline based on YOLOv7, and a context-aware caption generation model.

His teaching interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Programming in Python and C++, and Data Structures. He previously served as a Teaching Assistant at IIIT Allahabad, where he guided lab sessions, conducted vivas, evaluated assignments, provided feedback to students, and assisted in delivering the core AI and ML curriculum.

His technical skill set includes Python, C++, and C, with hands-on experience in frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and NumPy. He is also proficient in MySQL. Vikas combines strong programming capabilities with a solid understanding of deep learning models and best practices in AI deployment.
