Seminar on Different Shades on Entrepreneurship
The Executive MBA program, October 2019 commenced on November 2, 2019. The program has twenty-four participants from renowned organizations like Accenture, Axis Bank, INFOSYS, Tata Consultancy Services, DHL, Mphasis, Capgemini, and Juniper Networks with an average work experience of about five years.
The students were oriented to the program on November 2, 2019, and a seminar was conducted on ‘Different Shades on Entrepreneurship' for students, faculty and industry personnel. Fifty-five working professionals enthusiastically participated in the program. The participants were also introduced to the DERBI Foundation and oriented the Executive MBA program.
Different Shades of Entrepreneurship
The October 2019 Executive MBA program commenced on November 2, 2019, with a seminar titled ‘Different Shades of Entrepreneurship’. The seminar delved into critical aspects of entrepreneurship, starting from – Corporate Entrepreneurship and ending with how a start-up approaches an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The seminar also looks at the journey of a young entrepreneur who has recently made it to the ‘Forbes 30 under 30' list of entrepreneurs' and his company has received Series A funding of $ 5 million. Entrepreneurship is not complete without it having a positive impact on society and an important aspect of the seminar is the session on ‘Social Entrepreneurship'. The seminar concluded with a close look at issues on International Property Rights (IPR) and executives joining the Executive MBA program that are oriented to processes and systems.

Srinivas R.G. - Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at TIBIL Solutions
Rajendram Gopalakrishnan Srinivas (RG) is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and the Australian Graduate School of Management, Sydney. He is currently the Chief Revenue Officer of Tibil, a Data Analytics Company, responsible for their business growth and sales and marketing. Before Tibil he was an entrepreneur in e-retail for a few years and has previously worked in global organizations like IBM, Lucent and GE Capital. He taught Prescriptive Analytics to Executive MBA students at IIM-B, Alliance University and is currently associated with the school of management at Dayananda Sagar University as a member of its Board of Studies.
Bindu Sharma - Founder & CEO, Origiin IP Solutions LLP.
Origiin IP Solutions LLP is a finalist for Economic Times - Leaders of Tomorrow Awards 2013. Origiin was rated as one of the top 25 law firms in India by Silicon India.
Bindu Sharma is an IP Attorney with extensive experience in IP laws across a range of technologies and industries in India and abroad. She enjoys working with innovative organizations and inventors and guides them in protecting their intellectual property most effectively. She has worked with clients locally, nationally and internationally in many industries and technologies. She advises clients on the issues related to Patents, Patent Validity, Infringement, Licensing and Monetization as well as IP Management, IP Strategies, Licensing, Trademark, Copyright and Design/utility patent matters. She recently was recognized as one of the top 100 women in law by WIPF. Origiin was selected as a finalist in the ET Now awards for Leaders of Tomorrow 2013. In the year 2014, she received the "Emerging Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2014" award under the Legal Services Sector by Brands Academy. Subsequently, Origiin was chosen as "Company of the year 2014 – Patents" by Silicon India. Articles written by her are periodically published in various magazines such as Dataquest, Smart Techie, Pharmabiz and Silicon India, etc.
Saketh BSV
Saketh is a co-founder of Perpule, one of the fastest-growing retail tech companies in India and has raised investment from notable investors like Kalaari Capital, Prime Ventures, & Venture Highway. Perpule helps make offline stores smarter, by creating a data first platform that improves consumer experience across all channels which include Point of Sale and Self-Checkout. Perpule has previously launched India's first "cashier-less, cash-till less" store along with HyperCITY last year. It has notable clients like Big Bazaar, Shoppers Stop, and SPAR, etc. to its name. Saketh graduated from IIT Madras in 2015, previously worked at Goldman Sachs and currently manages the Product and Engineering team for Perpule. He was also previously recognized in the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia 2018.
Sunil Bhumralkar
Sunil Bhumralkar is an experienced Chartered Accountant with 35+ years of post-qualification experience of working with leading professional firms. He served as a senior audit partner of SR Batliboi &Associates LLP (a member firm of EY) for 24 years. He has recently retired from the firm and has set up his advisory practice working mainly with entrepreneurial/ strategic growth companies.
Dr. Shankara Prasad
Dr. Shankara Prasad is an E-governance Evangelist - Managing Trustee & Founder at Sampoorna Swaraj Foundation which he founded ten years ago. Dr. Shankara Prasad is an alumnus of IIT-Karaghpur and SUNY, Stony Brook, New York, the United States of America.
Dr. Prasad’s passion is to bring six-sigma enterprise philosophy and methodology into the government domain. He is the architect of IndiGrip, an ERP and workflow automation software solution for government organizations.
Dr. Prasad has many accolades, both national and international and most recently was selected as one of twenty Indians for the World Governance Expedition, by Vision India Foundation in 2016. He was the leader of the Indian delegation to Herat, Afghanistan in 2015 for the India-Afghanistan Innovation Fair 2015. He has also advised the governments of Karnataka and Sikkim in the areas of Information Technology. Before his entrepreneurial foray, Dr. Prasad has worked for large MNC's like INTEL and Robert Bosch in the United States and Europe before setting up INKROMA E-Governance in 2001.
He is widely traveled and has consulted with more than thirty companies and his book on Advanced Chip Design is a serious academic effort in engineering and technology and is extremely well received. He was Adjunct –Professor at California State University, San Jose, California and advisor to the Centre for Electronics Development and Technology, IISC, Bangalore.
Conclusion:
The average industry experience of five years bodes very well and the program can attract participants from branded organizations speaks highly of its efficacy.
