FAQ's

  • Who is authorized to use the DSU Library?

    All students, faculty members and Staff Members of DSU School of Commerce & management studies are authorized to use the Library. Staff Members and visiting faculties also have the privilege to use the Library.

  • Is there any separate Library Card issued for using the Library?

    No separate Id Card is issued for using the Library. The Institute Id Card is sufficient to enter the Library and issue books.

  • How do I search Library collection/resources?

    The Library has an online automated catalogue which can be searched through OPAC. http://172.25.11.159/opac/

  • Can I borrow books by sending Id card through someone?

    No, the borrower has to personally come and get books issued in his/her name after signing in the book card.

  • Can I renew issued book(s) online?

    Yes. An email communication will be sent to you before the due date for online renewal, subject to the reservation against the book. If you get a maximum renewal reached limit, that particular book must be physically brought to the Library for re­issue.

  • I am going on academic leave or temporarily withdrawing from a semester. Do I need to return the books which I borrowed?

    Yes, you are required to return all the books before proceeding on long leave for optimum use of the Library resources by all.

  • How do I access the E­resources subscribed by the Library? Do I need any separate login/password?

    Most of the E­resources are accessible through the internet network within the campus via IP authentication. However, separate instructions are given for accessing some E­resources. You may contact the concerned In charge or the Librarian to know more details.

  • How do I get No Dues from the Library?

    You can apply offline for No Dues through getting form from Admin section. The Library will mention the dues, if any, in the offline form. You will have to pay the dues in the Library Circulation Section for getting final clearance from the Library.

  • What Should I do if the book I borrowed got lost?

    If the borrowed book is lost then immediately you should give a letter to the Librarian stating the cause. If the book is available then you should replace the same otherwise you have to pay triple cost of the book for the same.   • What is the fine I have to pay, if I would not return book within the stipulated date?

    Users, if they don't return books in time should pay fine to library and no consideration shall be made. The details of the fine is as follows:

  • What is the timing of library?

    Library working hours: Circulation Section : 09:00 am to 08:00 pm Other Sections : 09:00 am to 6:00 pm Reference sections : 09:00 am to 8:00 pm Saturday : 09:00 am to 2:00 pm (On all working days)
