Faculty Achievements

January 2026

A research paper titled “Comparative Evaluation of Transformer-Based and Baseline NER Models for Kenyan Financial Text” was presented by Mr. Chandaka Giri Babu and Ms priyanka soni, Assistant Professor, SCA at the 9th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Data Science (ICCIDS 2026). The conference was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, and held from January 8–10, 2026.


An invited talk was delivered by Dr. Kokila R, Associate Professor, School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, as part of the international conference “AI-Driven Digital Futures: Leveraging Intelligent Systems for Inclusive Sustainable Societies (ICAIDF-2026)” held on 9th January 2026 at CTTE College for Women. The session highlighted the role of intelligent systems in building inclusive and sustainable societies and provided valuable academic and research insights to participants. The talk was well received and contributed significantly to the objectives of the conference.


February 2026

The School of Computer Applications (SCA), Dayananda Sagar University, congratulated its faculty members on qualifying the UGC-NET examination on 4th February 2026. Mr. Chandaka Giri Babu and Mr. Rajan Niranjan qualified for Assistant Professor and Ph.D. eligibility, while Mr. Aqib Hussain, Ms. Nikita, Mr. Bhukya Chinna, and Ms. Neha Gupta qualified for Ph.D. eligibility, reflecting the department’s academic excellence and research focus.

Ms. Haripriya R, faculty member of SCA, successfully completed a 6-day National Level Faculty Development Program on “Generative & Agentic AI – Tools & Demos” from 16th to 21st February 2026. The program, organized by SVNIT and co-sponsored by IEEE Gujarat Section in collaboration with Pantech Solutions, focused on emerging concepts and tools in Generative and Agentic AI.

Dr. M. S. Nidhya, Associate Professor at the School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, has achieved a significant academic milestone with the publication of her research article titled “A Context-Aware Intelligent Scheduling Framework for Modern Operating Systems Using Hybrid Machine Learning Models” in the Journal of Computational and Cognitive Engineering (JCCE), a Q1-ranked international journal, representing the highest tier of peer-reviewed journals globally


A research paper titled “Mathematical and Predictive Modeling of Fermentation Kinetics in Banana Stem Juice (Musa paradisiaca)” was presented by Rakshitha S.

The paper was presented at the International Academic Conference on “Ekatma Manav Darshan – Bharat’s Worldview.”

The conference was organized by Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru.


April 2026

SG Sumana from the School of Computer Applications published the research paper “Mpox Risk Forecasting: Integrating Neural Networks and Public Sentiment Analysis” in April 2026. The work, indexed in Scopus, was completed in collaboration with faculty members from SCA and SOE.

SG Sumana also published the paper “An Adaptive LSB-Based Video Steganography Framework with Blockchain-Enabled Verification for Secure Multimedia Communication” in a reputed Q2 journal in April 2026, marking another significant research achievement.

Haripriya R received a Certificate of Reviewing from an Elsevier journal for successfully completing manuscript reviews between March and April 2026, recognizing her contribution to academic research and peer review activities.

Research Publication Achievement

Faculty members of the School of Computer Applications, Ms. Priyanka Rukesh, Dr. S. Senthil, Dr. Ramesh, and Ms. S. B. Pallavi, co-authored a research paper titled “Enhancing Agricultural Sustainability through Data-Driven Yield Prediction and Soil Nutrient Analysis.” The paper was published in the International Conference on Current Trends in Advanced Computing (ICCTAC 2026) and indexed in IEEE Xplore.

The research utilized Machine Learning techniques, including Random Forest Regression, to improve crop yield prediction and support data-driven agricultural decision-making. The proposed model achieved an R² score of 0.99, demonstrating high prediction accuracy and significant potential for enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability.

Mr. Aqib Hussain, Ms. Alpa Patel, Dr. S. Senthil, Mr. Pavan Kalyan G, Ms. Rakshitha S, and Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, faculty members of the School of Computer Applications, published a research paper titled “An Experience-Driven Hybrid Approach for Autonomous Robot Navigation Using SNN, APF and RRT”* in ICCTAC 2026, published by IEEE. The study proposed an AI-based navigation framework for autonomous robots, achieving a 100% success rate and improved path-planning efficiency in dynamic environments, contributing to advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

G., faculty member of the School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, published a research article titled “An Adaptive LSB-Based Video Steganography Framework with Blockchain-Enabled Verification for Secure Multimedia Communication” in the Q2 Scopus-indexed journal Engineering, Technology and Applied Science Research (ETASR). The study proposed a secure framework combining video steganography, cryptographic encryption, and blockchain verification to enhance the security and integrity of multimedia communications.

Ms. Haripriya R, faculty member of the School of Computer Applications, successfully completed the Faculty Development Program on Advanced Generative AI and Context Engineering conducted by Innomatics Research Labs from 18th to 22nd May 2026. The program provided training in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Context Engineering, and AI Agents, enhancing her expertise in emerging technologies for teaching, research, and innovation.

She earned an Elite certification in “Neural Networks for Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing” from IIT Guwahati with a score of 96% and also completed the NPTEL-AICTE Faculty Development Programme on “Medical Image Analysis.” These achievements highlight her dedication to continuous learning and expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and Medical Imaging..

I am delighted to share that the research paper titled “Enhancing Explainable AI with Diverse Counterfactual Explanations (DiCE) for Transparent Stroke Risk Assessment” authored by Ms. Alpa Patel, Mr. Aqib Hussain, Ms. Sindhu S, and Mr. Ambanna S Madabhavi (Assistant Professors, Dayananda Sagar University, Kudlu Gate, Bengaluru) has been honored with the Best Paper Award at the 4th International Conference on Robotics, Control, Automation and Artificial Intelligence (RCAAI-2025) organized by Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE, Manipal, India, held from 29th to 31st October 2025.

This recognition highlights the team’s outstanding contribution to advancing Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) and its application in transparent and trustworthy stroke risk assessment.
