Dr. Abhilash O
Assistant Professor
Dr. Abhilash O is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University. He completed his Ph.D. in Biofuels from Dayananda Sagar University, where his research focused on the production, characterization, and engine performance evaluation of biodiesel derived from waste resources. He holds an M.Tech in Thermal Power Engineering from UBDTCE (VTU) and has over 10 years of research and academic experience in thermal sciences, alternative fuels, and emission reduction technologies.
His work involves developing waste-derived biodiesel blends enhanced with nanoparticle additives to improve combustion efficiency and reduce pollutants in diesel engines. He has published multiple Scopus-indexed papers in leading journals including the Journal of Environmental Nanotechnology, Journal of Solid Waste Technology and Management, and Journal of Mines, Metals and Fuels. His technical strengths include experimental IC engine testing, thermal analysis, fuel property evaluation, and simulation tools such as ANSYS, Solid Edge, and MATLAB. His broader research interests span clean energy systems, circular economy-based fuel innovations, and nanotechnology-assisted combustion research.
