Faculty Development Program by School of Commerce and Management
Dayananda Sagar University organizes and hosts faculty development programs (FDP) that enhances skills of professors to improve the teaching-learning process. Our FDP programs are aptly chosen to empower teachers to include trending topics in their pedagogy tools.
In this regard, School of commerce and management studies of DSU has organized inter college Faculty Develop Programs for all the faculty members. The 3-day FDP programs swap the latest topics on Finance Pedagogy, Market Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and HR Practices.
FDP 1 - Finance Pedagogy – 28 September, 2018
Finance has become a foremost function in managing the business with a lot of changes brought in by the government policies and framework off late. It’s very imperative to inculcate the changes in our course curriculum by augmenting our research skills on the pedagogy of handling the finance sessions.
Objectives
- Provide a platform for finance academicians to develop connect with industry expectation.
- Train the faculty members of business schools, post graduate faculty members, undergraduate faculty members and pre university faculty members to understand the industry expectations aiming to align course objectives, instruction and assessment.
- Train faculty members with classroom management strategies and designing course hand-out.
- Train the finance faculty to understand the recent developments to handle accounting and investment courses.
- Train to adopt technology blended and flipped learning.

FDP 2 - Innovation and Entrepreneurship - 3rd October 2 0 1 8
This FDP on innovation and entrepreneurship would give the participants an insight into the fact of combining innovation and entrepreneurship in generating the promising entrepreneurs in becoming a part of start-up culture. This would also absorb the qualities in the commerce and management Faculty of entrepreneurship culture and involve various thoughts in handling the sessions enthusiastically.
Objectives
- Create an awareness of the need and importance of entrepreneurship.
- Impart knowledge and skills through diverse training methods to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship.
- How to seek entrepreneurial opportunity and developing the entrepreneurial and professional mind set among the teachers.
- To motivate the students to choose entrepreneurship as their career choice.
- Role of innovation in entrepreneurship and how to be creative and the process of creativity.
- Guidance on preparing the feasible and viable business model.

Marketing domain is going through a lot of innovative and creative changes emphasizing the significance of analytical thinking and more inclination towards marketing research. This FDP gives the teaching community of marketing area to have a look at the role of market research in decision making as well framing the strategies respectively.
