Mr. Pratik
Research Fellow
Mr. Pratik is a research fellow (external) in Mathematics at ISI Bangalore having previously completed an undergrad (BSc - Math, 2009) at Fergusson college in Pune followed by a masters (M.Math, 2011) at ISI Bangalore. His research interests mainly lie in Algebraic Geometry, Commutative Algebra and Formalization of Mathematics while keenly following developments in Foundations of mathematics, Theoretical computer science, Physics and Automated theorem proving.
He, as an undergrad, secured AIR 25 in IIT-JAM, obtained ISI M.Math, IISc Int. PhD, NBHM Int. PhD scholarship offers etc., while as a master's, had IISc PhD, ISI PhD and NBHM PhD scholarship offers besides qualifying CSIR-NET (JRF - AIR 41). He has over a decade of experience in teaching across all levels in government sponsored programmes and otherwise. He has collaborated on several aspects of the Indian Math Olympiad programme and participated as a resource fellow in (India) EGMOTC 2022 besides taking up tutorial assistantships for NBHM (AIS, IST), IISc's teachers' training programme (Challakere campus) and ISI B.Math/M.Math courses across various areas in Pure Mathematics.
As a pure mathematics aficionado, he emphasizes on learning through discovery, motivating prerequisites, concrete examples, worthy problems and holds that mathematical maturity underlies an informed worldview regardless of one's choice of career to sustain.
