Shahid Raza is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. He holds an M.Tech in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad and B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from JP Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut.

He has hands-on experience in core programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, and is proficient in technologies like Node.js, MongoDB, and React. His academic journey includes deep engagement with advanced concepts in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Algorithms & Data Structures, Computer Networks and Cloud Computing.

His research interests focus on Federated Learning, Machine Learning, and Contrastive Representation Learning. His M.Tech thesis, titled "Federated Learning with Feature Space Heterogeneity", introduces a novel framework that integrates Variational Autoencoders (VAEs) and contrastive learning for handling feature inconsistency across clients — achieving significant performance improvements across multiple benchmarks.
