Vishnu Shankar
Assistant Professor
Vishnu Shankar is a passionate AI researcher, educator, and machine learning engineer, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU). With a strong academic foundation and industry oriented mindset, he has cultivated a deep expertise in artificial intelligence, data science, and machine learning systems.
He holds an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Gurukul Kangri University. During his academic journey, Vishnu consistently demonstrated excellence in research, system design, and applied AI development.
Vishnu’s research has been recognized in the academic community, most notably through his Springer-published paper, “Deep Learning Based AI-Generated Image Detection”, which explores novel CNN-based approaches to differentiate synthetic and human-generated images with high accuracy.
He has independently developed and deployed several impactful AI projects, including Rice Variety Classification systems, Intelligent RAG-Based Question Answering Systemand Potato Disease Classification Model among various others.
Vishnu is skilled in a wide array of tools and frameworks, including Python, SQL, MySQL, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, LangChain, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn. His areas of focus include Deep Learning, NLP, Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI (GenAI), Transformers, LLMs, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). He is equally proficient in MLOps and deployment practices, with hands-on experience in Docker, MLflow, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Flask, and Streamlit.
With a unique blend of academic excellence, real-world implementation, and teaching acumen, Vishnu continues to contribute to the advancement of AI, while mentoring and inspiring future technologists in the field.
