Yakantika Roy
Assistant Professor
Yakantika Roy is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru. She holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Software Engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-Allahabad) and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Rustamji Institute of Technology, Gwalior, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal.
She is proficient in programming languages such as Java and Python, with a strong command of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and solid expertise in Data Structures and Algorithms. Her core competencies include Database Management Systems (DBMS), Operating Systems, Software Engineering, and Web Development.
During her M.Tech, she worked on a thesis titled "Redshift Prediction Using Probabilistic Machine Learning Techniques", where she explored large-scale astronomical datasets like the Cosmos dataset to estimate photometric redshifts. Her work involved applying probabilistic models and machine learning algorithms to improve redshift prediction accuracy—demonstrating her ability to apply software engineering skills in interdisciplinary and data-intensive research contexts.
