National Level Workshop on Design and Development of Nano-Satellite (July 3 to July 5, 2019)
Departments of ECE, Aerospace Engineering, R&D and Innovations organized a national level workshop on “Design and Development of Nano Satellite” at Dayananda Sagar University, Kudlu Gate, Hosur Road Bangalore, from July 3rd to July 5th, 2019. There were about 100 participants who came from different parts of the country. Renowned scientists, research scholars, faculty and students of various colleges participated in this workshop. The main objective of the workshop was to give a familiarization of satellite technology to the younger generation and excite their interest in satellite technology.
On 3rd July the workshop was inaugurated by Dr. P S Goel, a legendary in space technology. This was followed by 3 days of lectures on the following aspects.
- Satellite System Engineering
- Satellite mission design
- PISAT presentation
- Satellite control System
- Satellite Communication system
- Satellite Tele-command, Telemetry, and Onboard computer system
- Reliability aspects and
- Satellite Ground station details
Finally, the workshop was concluded in the presence of a Chef Guest, Prof. R M Vasagam. In the end, a visit to Moon Mission Control Centre was arranged with courtesy of ISRO. Summarizing, the workshop was well received and the participants demanded a more hands-on workshop for an individual system of a spacecraft, which we will be organizing in due course of time.
