ENG20EC0084,

My engineering journey began like everyone's does, with admission. I had heard great things in terms of prestige and accolades about the college; innovation was the pride and joy of the college. I was ecstatic about the coming 4 years of learning and profound experiences to follow, although in the beginning my interactions with the wonderful professors and friendly classmates was through online classes, it helped me ease into the professional classroom lifestyle. A lifestyle where studies and external participation carried equal importance, where deadlines and workloads mixed with extracurricular activities and tested me on every management avenue possible. I am grateful to have interacted with incredibly knowledgeable and approachable professors throughout my 4 years of education. The first year was where I maximized social interactions and kept my studies in the backseat. As fun as it was, I quickly realized it was not the right approach to engineering. During the second year I had meaningful interactions with my mentor who gave me the important guidance I lacked. The mentoring not only helped me set a target but also gave me a roadmap to achieve it. The mentoring didn't tell me what I needed to do but rather gave me the ability to figure out what I needed to do on my own, this made me exceptionally self-reliant and improvements in my academics and extracurricular activities were unprecedented. The mentoring proved so impactful that the professors took notice of my abilities not only in the class but outside too. I was given pivotal responsibilities purely based on my performance. This truly transformed my years going forward, I began to cultivate a professional attitude and began my journey towards my professional career early. It greatly benefited me that my mentor was an industry professional with unmatched experience and insights of the job world, their guidance proved priceless when it came time for me to sit for my placements. During the final year of my Engineering, I shifted focus into preparing myself for tests and job interviews. My mentor's guidance proved invaluable in helping me conquer my nerves and develop the right attitude to impress my interviewers and ensure a good result. My mentor gave me a clear scenario regarding what the industry is looking for in an individual, the skill sets required to not only survive but to thrive, the achievements that are recognised and appreciated by industrial professionals and also the point of interest I need to produce on my resume to be shortlisted for any job interview. “The proof is in the pudding” they say and its reflection is the fact that I am working as Associate Engineer for Bosch Global Software Technologies – fulfilling my dream to get into a core company.Shreyas S N

The best decision made by me is selecting DAYANANDA SAGAR UNIVERSITY to do my bachelor’s degree. Here in our university from Dean to all faculty members are so cooperative, that they help us in Curricular and Extra Curricular activities. The projects which we did in our college helped me in my placements as well as carrying out my Internship project in Indian Institute of Science. And we will have summer internships every year in our university, soon after the Internship we got opportunity to participate in Hackathon which was conducted by U C Berkley in Vijayawada our project was selected for finals and we got Runner up position. We also published Research paper, which was selected for ICRTET-2018 under the guidance of Dr. Payal Varma. We have well equipped labs in our university like Bosch, VMware, IBM, Autodesk, Nvidia. These labs inspire us in doing Innovative projects.ANITA R.SHIRUR
DSU15EC0008,

Throughout my 4 years of engineering at ‘Dayananda Sagar University’, I had countless opportunities to develop analytical skills, leadership and proactive thinking for various programs and events. For, which I thank my teachers for their constant encouragement and support. They challenged and pushed me to be better and creative in my projects and for the cultural events, because of which I now have enough confidence to tackle any problem. The placement cell of the college has guided us throughout our curriculum for getting better opportunities during placements. All of these helped me to have two offer letters at the end of the placement season, each offer letter being from a well-known MNC. My sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Electronics & communications department for their steadfast support and encouragement, this would not have been possible without them. ABHINAV G.A.

"Be humble in your confidence, yet courageous in your character"
I was not a very confident girl when it came to choices back in my first year but DSU has provided me with variety of Personal Effective programs and Interpersonal skill trainings that not only improved my confidence but also made me realize the importance of bonding and team work. There are highly equipped labs that made it possible for me to make many projects like the Smart Trolley system using Deep learning and Image processing, integrated Multi Modal Transportation app and many more. The ECE dept also encouraged us to visit the India Electronics Week Exhibition that gave us an exposure in the field of INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT), Robotics, 3D printing along with a fun trip to BITS BILANI Hyderabad to attend PCB training workshop. I also did a two month internship in The DERBI Foundation, a foundation Technology business incubator in our college, as the community Developer in my second year. I also received the Merit Certificate from IIT Delhi for being the Student Ambassador and representing Dayanada Sagar University with all the support and motivation from DSU. As a team, I participated in the International Climate Design challenge where we submitted the idea called The Smart Campus with the help of our professor, Dr. Chandrashekar Vaidyanathan. Followed by that we also got immense support to execute our idea called Health Monitoring system and biometric authorization to unlock the car which has been submitted in the Valeo Innovation Challenge 2018. Again, as a team, I won the Yadupati Singhaniya Award 2018 for the best Innovative idea “The Solar Paint" in IIT Kanpur 2018 under the guidance of Dr. Srinivas, Dean, DSU. I presented a technical paper on Microbial Fuel cell: A green approach for the utilization of waste for the generation of bioelectricity in the International conference on recent trends in Engineering and technology 2018 which will soon be published in the IJERCE Journal under the guidance of Dr. Payal Verma, Associate Professor, ECE department. I also presented the Solar Paint idea at ARCI, The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, a Govt of India Lab for Solar, Hyderabad. All the hard work along with immense support and motivation from all the professors, I have been so fortunate to get offer letters from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, University of Manchester, UK, University of Newcastle, UK and University of Loughborugh, UK. DSU is truly a centre of excellence in education, research & training, innovation that has enhances my creativity, innovation and problem solving capabilities. I am a proud DSU-ite !
