Ms. Snigdha Sikha Kashyap
Assistant Professor
Ms. Snigdha Sikha Kashyap is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bengaluru. She holds an M.Tech in Data Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar, and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College, Government of Assam.
Her academic and research interests include deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, and infrastructure automation. Her recent research focuses on perceptual hashing using transfer learning and deep learning models, where she designed and trained two advanced architectures: ResNet-50 enhanced with Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) modules, and ResNet-101 with CBAM attention mechanisms. Her models achieved high classification performance, with AUC scores of 0.9179 (ROC) and 0.9271 (PR) for ResNet-50 SE, and 0.8945 (ROC) and 0.9091 (PR) for ResNet-101 CBAM on datasets like Tiny ImageNet and CIFAR-10. This work was accepted for oral presentation at IEEE INDISCON 2025.
She has also worked on a rice leaf disease classification project, where she collected and curated a custom dataset and developed classification models that achieved an AUC score exceeding 90%, demonstrating her ability to tackle real-world agricultural challenges using deep learning techniques.
Before joining DSU, Ms. Kashyap gained valuable industry experience as a Post-Graduate Student Trainee at Nokia Solutions Network, Bengaluru. There, she developed a self-healing lab automation framework using Ansible to automate system hardening and configuration across over 100 servers, reducing manual effort by 70%. She also streamlined incident tracking by integrating Python scripts with MySQL, GitLab, and Jira, which reduced operational response times by 60%.
Her technical skill set includes Python, PyTorch, MySQL, Ansible, basic C, Linux, and core competencies in data structures and algorithms, automation frameworks, and version control systems. She holds certifications in AI & ML from IIT Guwahati and additional credentials in Ansible and Linux from LinkedIn Learning.
At DSU, Ms. Kashyap is committed to fostering student-centered learning, mentoring research in deep learning and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to solve real-world problems through data-driven innovation.
