B R Viswanath
B. R. Viswanath is a skilled painter, photographer, and cinematographer with over 30 years of experience. He has a strong foundation in Visual Arts, focusing on the social and cultural aspects of the world around us. Through his work, Viswanath uses shapes, colors, and textures to reflect on the challenges of modern society.
His practice includes experimenting with old photographic techniques and various styles. Viswanath has worked as a cinematographer on different projects, including documentaries about tribal communities, collaborating with both new and well-known directors. He also created his own documentary, Biographia (2010), and a short film, V K Murthy, Reflections (2023).
Viswanath has taught and conducted workshops as a visiting faculty member at institutions like the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts in Mysore, L V Prasad Institute, and Tent Cinema. He has also been a resource person for film-making workshops led by well-known artists, filmmakers, and technicians like Girish Kasaravalli and G. S. Bhaskar.
