Dr. Sudarshan T S B is an accomplished academician, researcher, and administrator with over three decades of experience spanning teaching, research, and academic leadership. He currently serves as the Dean – Research & Innovation at Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bangalore, and as a Professor in the Department of CSE.

As Dean R& I, he contributes to the vision of the university on Research, Collaboration and Innovation. He is instrumental in driving the research culture, publication and project funding. His profile includes the conduction of PhD programs, initiative and oversee Funded Projects, lead initiations for quality Publications and initiate National and International Collaborations. He leads and coordinates research activities across multiple schools, including Engineering, Commerce & Management, Basic Sciences, Journalism, Law, Arts, Design, Humanities, and Medical and Allied Health Sciences.

Earlier, he served as Dean of Research at PES University from July 2017 till July 2025. He served as Head-Research as well as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, School of Engineering, Bangalore campus between 2009 and 2017. He was a Professor and Head of the Department in the Department of Computer Science & Information Systems at BITS, Pilani, Pilani Campus, India from 1997 till 2009.

He obtained his Ph.D. in Wireless Networks with Nokia Research Scholarship award from BITS, Pilani, India and did his Masters from Birla Institute of Technology, MESRA, Ranchi.

His research interests spread across Heterogeneous Parallel computing, Robotics & AI Computing and Network Technologies. He has more than 150+ research publications and nearly 1100 citations with an h-index of 18.

He is an active member of IEEE, ACM, The Robotic Society of India, Computer Society of India, Internet Society and a life member of ISTE, India.

He is a Founder-Chair of IEEE Robotics & Automation Society (RAS) Bangalore Chapter and now serves as an Executive member of IEEE RAS and IEEE Computer Society chapters.

He also served as the Chairman of Internet Society (ISOC), Bangalore Chapter for 5 years.

He served as a member in the Technical Advisory Board of Cradle Technologies, USA between 2004 & 2005.
