Legal Aid Services Committee:
Coordinators: Prof. Shivani Dutta and Prof. Sanjay Utagi
The Legal Aid Services Committee of DSU's School of Law (SOL), established since the law school's inception, is dedicated to providing legal aid to those in need. The committee's office is located on the 3rd floor of B Block in the DSU campus. In association with the District Legal Aid Services Authority, Bangalore Urban, and the Karnataka Legal Aid Services Authority, it works to create awareness on various social issues. With the help of SOL student volunteers, the committee conducts various legal literacy programs and has carried out numerous fieldwork initiatives to raise awareness among the general public.Additionally, social awareness is being promoted at the grassroots level through legal awareness programs organized by the committee in villages.
Moot Court Society
Coordinator: Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Inam Ul Mansoor and Mr. Nithin Rajeev
The Moot Court Society at the School of Law, Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore, is dedicated to enriching students' legal education through practical courtroom simulations. It organizes a range of activities, including internal moot court competitions and participation in prestigious external tournaments, both nationally and internationally. These activities enable students to hone their skills in drafting legal briefs, presenting oral arguments, and navigating courtroom dynamics.
The society also supports students through workshops and training sessions led by experienced faculty and legal professionals, providing valuable guidance on mooting techniques and legal research. This hands-on experience helps students build confidence and competence in their advocacy skills. By fostering a collaborative environment and offering practical experience, the Moot Court Society plays a vital role in preparing students for the complexities of the legal profession, ensuring they are well-equipped for their future careers in law.
NSS Unit
Coordinator: Prof. Bharath K. M
The NSS Unit of School of Law, Dayananda Sagar University, and Bengaluru is a student led club. The programme aims to instil the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources. It also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster's victims. The National Social Service has been involved in spreading education on these topics by conducting various activities throughout the year and strives to continue to do so.
Mentorship programme

A Mentorship Programme is a structured initiative designed to support the personal and professional development of individuals (mentees) through guided interactions with more experienced professionals (mentors). It provides an opportunity for mentees to gain insights, advice, and support from mentors who have expertise and experience in relevant fields. Mentoring is a unique method of supporting students to improve their learning and leadership skills, motivating them towards their future career development. It provides an enriching mentorship programme for all the students to enable them to choose their career path and motivate them to accomplish 100% of what they think they are capable of. With this in mind, the School of Law, DSU has a mentorship programme wherein the faculty members are given guidelines on mentor system and meet the students on day-to-day basis to listen to their issues and guide them on their overall personality development. The Mentorship Programme is responsible for selection of Mentors as well as providing guidelines on the role of mentors. Mentorship Programme provide a structure and process to foster the academic career development and success of faculty. The purpose of mentoring is to facilitate the personal and professional growth of students by providing guidance, support, and transfer of knowledge from experienced mentors to mentees.
Sports committee

A Sports Committee is a specialized group dedicated to overseeing and enhancing sports activities within an institution. Its primary responsibilities include organizing events, intercollegiate and intramural competitions, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with university regulations, and fostering athlete development. This committee typically includes faculty members, athletic staff, student representatives, and sometimes external experts, all working together to support and enhance the university's sports offerings. The committee often comprises individuals with expertise in sports management, coaching, and administration, who work collaboratively to promote fair play, encourage participation, and improve overall sports programs. By addressing both logistical and strategic aspects, the sports committee plays a crucial role in building a vibrant and effective sports culture in the University. The sports committee plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant athletic culture, supporting student-athletes' development, and ensuring that university sports programs align with the institution's educational and community goals.
