Executive MBA – Career Anchors Test

A Career Anchor Test was conducted for fresh students of the Executive MBA program February 2020 on Feb 29, 2020.
The concept of the Career Anchors was introduced by Edgar Schein. A Career Anchor is something that develops over time and evolves into a self-concept, shaping an individual's personal identity or self-image and includes:
• Talents, skills and abilities - the things that we believe we are good at, and not so good at.
• Motives and needs - what is important to us and take the form of goals, e.g. money, status, challenge, autonomy.
• Attitudes and values - the kind of organisation that we feel comfortable with, one that matches our own values and beliefs.
The test allows a student to introspect and provides information in choosing a functional specialization rather than just being intuitive about it.
Eighty-Five participants took the test which was conducted by Prof. M.G. Raghuraman. Prof.Raghuraman teaches IT and Project Management. He was a career engineering officer with the Indian Railways before joining Mphasis Technologies and eventually retired as the organizations Chief Information Officer.
Advanced Certificate Program in Design Thinking
In a world that grows more complex and intensely connected each day, strategy and design thinking are no longer just the playground of design-focused companies. By adopting design thinking principles, businesses can develop low cost working prototypes for various needs and test them in real time. According to the IBM 2017 Global C-suite Study, "Organizations of all sizes are prioritizing personalized customer experiences. The enterprises that most effectively deliver on this imperative are using design thinking to manage complexity, orchestrate across channels and truly understand their customers’ motivations."
Advanced Certificate Program in Business Communication
Businesses and their management have become a crucial part of the corporate society using English as the primary or source language. Communication in business without the use of appropriate tools is another major grey area. While the abilities are expected, there is no formal training on the subject and we acquire these skills as part of growing up. Experience has it that most senior executives in the corporate world end up being poor communicators for the lack of synergy between their thoughts, tools of trade and their methods of applying the skill. Insignificant looking errors can mar major deals.
