The overall programme educational objectives for Mass communication & Journalism degree are

  • To impart the basic knowledge of Mass communication and Journalism and allied areas of studies.
  • To develop the learner into competent and efficient media and communication Industry ready professionals.
  • To enable students to place, understand, interpret and cover issues and events taking place in India in their historical, political, socio-economic and global contexts.
  • To impart industry relevant skills required to work in print, electronic and digital media and entertainment industries
  • To produce students with media literacy and competencies.
  • To set students on the path of research.
  • To inculcate values enshrined in Indian Constitution.
  • To prepare socially responsible communication professionals who are ready to take on the responsibilities in the area of marketing communication.

  • Cover events, report and write news and feature stories and articles for print and online news media.
  • Report and produce news stories and features for television and radio.
  • Shoot, edit and produce video content for fiction and non-fiction like short films, ad films, corporate films and documentaries.
  • Handle 360-degree integrated media communication like creating and running advertisements, PR activities and social media campaigns.
  • Conduct ethical and original research related to mass media, communication and allied fields of study.
