ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENT: Inspire to Aspire alumni awards 2025 (31st August 2025)


The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, proudly hosted the Inspire to Aspire Alumni Awards 2025 on 31st August 2025, celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of its alumni and their continued contributions to academia and industry.

In the category of Excellence in Alumni Contribution, the award was presented to Mr. Aakash Sahay, Engineer at Tata Elxsi and alumnus of the MCA Batch of 2023. Mr. Sahay has actively contributed to the institution as a dedicated member of the Board of Studies (BOS), supporting curriculum enhancement and fostering stronger industry–academia alignment.

In the category of Excellence in Career Advancement, the award was presented to Mr. Manoj S, Software Developer at IBM and alumnus of the BCA Batch of 2023. His outstanding professional growth in a short span of time stands as an inspiration to fellow students, showcasing the value of perseverance, skills, and continuous learning in building a successful career.

These achievements highlight the strong legacy of the School of Computer Applications in shaping future-ready professionals and fostering alumni who continue to bring pride and recognition to the university.



Technical Seminar on Breaking into Cybersecurity: The Student Roadmap to Skills, Certifications & Your First Job (25th August 2025)


The CyberCore – Cybersecurity Club of Dayananda Sagar University, School of Computer Applications, organized a technical seminar titled “Breaking into Cybersecurity: The Student Roadmap to Skills, Certifications & Your First Job” on 25th August 2025 at the DSU Innovation Campus. The seminar aimed to provide students with the right knowledge, skills, and industry insights to enter the cybersecurity field. It also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education, ensuring students gained access to inclusive learning opportunities, practical career guidance, and lifelong learning pathways.

The session’s primary objectives were to create awareness about the growing importance of cybersecurity, highlight essential skills and certifications, bridge the gap between academics and industry expectations, and enhance the employability of students. The beneficiaries were mainly BCA, B.Sc. (Data Science) and MCA students, who were introduced to real-world practices, career roadmaps, and the importance of continuous skill development in the rapidly evolving digital world.

The seminar featured Mr. Arnold Prakash, a Bengaluru-based cybersecurity expert with experience in ethical hacking, penetration testing, and training. He guided students on the role of certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, and CISSP, shared real-world case studies, and provided practical advice on preparing for internships and career opportunities. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified doubts, explored industry insights, and were motivated to actively pursue cybersecurity as a professional pathway.



Technical Seminar on Gear Up for IT: Navigating Your Path to a Successful Tech Career (20th August 2025)


The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, organized a technical seminar titled “Gear Up for IT: Navigating Your Path to a Successful Tech Career” on 20th August 2025 at the DSU Innovation Campus. The seminar was designed to guide II semester MCA students in preparing for successful careers in the IT industry by providing them with industry-focused insights, practical knowledge, and strategies for career readiness.

The key objectives of the event were to equip students with the skills, competencies, and mindset necessary to thrive in the IT sector, while bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The beneficiaries included students, who gained career guidance and exposure to industry practices; faculty, who deepened their understanding of current IT trends; and the institution, which strengthened its industry–academia collaboration and reputation.

The resource person for the seminar was Mr. Ramesh Rajamani, Account Delivery Head at Wipro Systems, Bengaluru, who brought extensive experience in managing large IT projects and leading teams. He shared valuable insights into industry skills, career pathways, and strategies for excelling in the competitive IT landscape. The session provided an interactive platform for students to engage with an industry expert, gain clarity on career preparation, and enhance their readiness for opportunities in the evolving tech world.



Health, Safety, and Life Skills Induction Programme for First-Year Students (5th August 2025)


The College of Nursing Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University – Harohalli Campus, organized a four-day “Health, Safety, and Life Skills Induction” from 05th to 08th August 2025 for the first-year students of the School of Computer Applications (SCA). Unlike the formal AURORA-2025 inaugural sessions, this program was designed to provide practical awareness on health, self-care, and emergency response. Conducted by healthcare professionals and faculty members, the sessions aimed at equipping students with essential medical knowledge and preparing them for a safe and healthy campus life.

The induction program focused on key objectives such as educating students about personal hygiene, nutrition, first aid, and emergency response techniques like CPR. It also emphasized digital hygiene, safe medication practices, and introduced students to the university’s medical facilities. The primary beneficiaries were first-year BCA and B.Sc. (Data Science) students, along with faculty and support staff who play a vital role in student well-being, thereby fostering a culture of safety and preparedness across the campus.

Each day featured structured sessions beginning at 11:00 AM, with experts covering topics ranging from Basic Health Care Principles (Mr. Ravi Kulal), Digital Hygiene & Eye Care (Ms. Sathana G), and First Aid for Bleeding, Burns, and Fractures (Ms. Sai Upasana) to CPR & Recovery Techniques (Mr. Ramesh S and Mr. Manojit Bera), Safe Use of Medicines (Dr. Sujitha M), and Nutrition for Healthy Living (Ms. Julice Varughese). Afternoon sessions included a guided tour of the Campus 4 Medical Facility, helping students understand available healthcare resources. Overall, the program successfully promoted health awareness and wellness, equipping students with vital life skills for their academic journey.
