Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Between Dayananda Sagar University and CYNUX ERA (25th July 2025)
We are delighted to announce the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) and CYNUX ERA, marking a significant milestone in fostering academic-industry collaboration in the field of Cybersecurity. This partnership is a strategic initiative aimed at equipping students with in-demand cybersecurity skills and preparing them for Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certifications from EC-Council, a globally recognized credential in the field. The MoU outlines a shared commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements through practical training, hands-on workshops, expert-led sessions, and real-time project experience. Through this collaboration, DSU students will gain exclusive access to certification programs, internships, mentoring, and career-oriented guidance that enhance their employability and global competitiveness.
This initiative is made possible through the visionary leadership and unwavering support of Dr. Senthil S., Dean of the School of Computer Applications, and Dr. Bukinakere S. Satyanarayana, Vice Chancellor of Dayananda Sagar University, whose dedication to innovation and student development continues to drive the university's progress in industry-aligned education.

AWS Skill Builder Program (25th July 2025)
The AWS Skill Builder Program Launch, held on 25th July 2025, was a collaborative initiative between Infosys Springboard and Amazon Web Services (AWS) India, aimed at empowering women students in the field of technology, particularly cloud computing. The event featured an engaging mix of keynote sessions, interactive discussions, and a guided campus tour, offering students an immersive industry experience. Distinguished leaders from Infosys and AWS, including Mr. Sushanth Tharappan, Ms. Aditi Tandan, Mr. Abhinav Banerjee, and Mr. Vikram Priyadarshi, addressed the students, sharing valuable insights on personal branding, growth, and the importance of continuous learning in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
The program focuses on upskilling women by offering structured access to AWS-certified learning content, real-time labs, mentorship, and pathways to global certifications like CEH, CHFI, and others. Students learned about key technologies like AI, ML, DevOps, and cloud architecture through an engaging three-month learning roadmap. Emphasis was laid on bridging the academic-industry gap, encouraging students to become industry-ready professionals. Motivational quotes and practical guidance—such as “Your network is your net worth” and “Success and scale bring broad responsibility”—left a lasting impression on the attendees.
The visit also provided opportunities for networking with professionals, helping students gain confidence and understand workplace dynamics. Students left inspired by the industry interaction, equipped with a better understanding of cloud technology, and motivated to pursue certifications that align with modern tech careers. The event not only promoted digital empowerment for women but also reinforced the importance of equal participation and skill-based learning in building a future-ready workforce.
Aurora 2025 (25th to 30th July 2025)
The School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, successfully inaugurated the first-year BCA and B.Sc (Data Science) programmes through a grand multi-day orientation programme titled AURORA – 2025, held on 25th July 2025. With the theme "Step into the Light of New Beginnings", the event aimed to warmly welcome new students and familiarize them with the academic culture, values, and vision of DSU. The series featured motivational talks, expert sessions, and interactions with industry leaders and mentors to ensure a strong and inspiring start for the students.
The key objectives of AURORA – 2025 were to introduce students to academic expectations, university support systems, co-curricular opportunities, and to inspire them with sessions focused on leadership, purpose, technology, and sustainability. The programme also aimed to build a positive mindset and equip students with the necessary tools for personal and academic success.
The primary beneficiaries of the programme were the first-year BCA and B.Sc (Data Science) students, along with faculty and academic staff who interact with the new batch. The orientation contributed to fostering a strong academic culture, student engagement, and a sense of belonging within the university community from the very first day.
Day 1: Inauguration (25th July 2025)
The Inauguration Ceremony of the First Year BCA and B.Sc (Data Science) Programmes, organized by the School of Computer Applications, Dayananda Sagar University, was held on 25th July 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Canopy Hall, ‘A’ Block, Innovation Campus. The event marked the commencement of the academic journey for the new batch of students under the theme "AURORA – 2025: Step into the Light of New Beginnings". The ceremony began with an invocation by Mr. Susesh S J and Ms. Keerthana, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. S. Senthil, Dean of the School of Computer Applications. The traditional lighting of the lamp and felicitation of the chief guest were performed by all dignitaries present. The chief guest, Dr. Madhan Kumar Srinivasan, an eminent entrepreneur and academician, delivered an inspiring address. The event was presided over by Dr. B. S. Satyanarayana, Vice Chancellor of DSU, who offered presidential remarks highlighting the university’s vision for excellence. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vasanthi Kumari P, expressing gratitude to all guests and participants. The inaugural function set a motivating tone for the orientation programme and the academic year ahead.
Day 2: 26th July 2025
Morning Session Time: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
As part of the orientation program for first year BCA and B.Sc (Data Science) Programmes, organized by the School of Computer Applications , a session titled “You are Precious” was conducted on 26th July 2025 from 10:00AM to 12:30PM. The engaging and insightful session was conducted by Sri Ananta Shayana Dasa, a renowned youth guide, life coach, and full-time monk at ISKCON Bangalore. With a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering and prior corporate experience at Amazon, Sri Ananta Shayana Prabhu brought a unique blend of spiritual depth and real-world understanding to the session. Centered around the theme of inner clarity and purposeful living, his talk resonated deeply with students. Drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, he emphasized the importance of pausing, reflecting, and understanding one’s "why" in life—reminding us, through the example of Arjuna, of the restless nature of the mind and the power of focused guidance. The session concluded with a vibrant Q&A segment where 35–40 students anonymously posed personal and thought-provoking questions, all of which were addressed with empathy and clarity. The event was well-received and left a lasting impact on all attendees.
After Noon Session Time: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
As part of the orientation program for first year BCA and B.Sc (Data Science) Programmes, organized by the School of Computer Applications , a session titled “You are Precious” was conducted on 26th July 2025 from 2:00PM to 3:30PM. The session was delivered by Dr. Sneha Rao, Founder Director of AFH (Ananya – A Foundation for Happiness). Dr. Rao highlighted the importance of soft skills, self-awareness, stress management, and emotional well-being. She emphasized that students often prepare for jobs but not for life, and encouraged them to work not just hard but also smart. Key takeaways included recognizing signs of stress such as fatigue, low energy, and lack of sleep, and the importance of talking to professors, parents, or support organizations like AFH. She reminded students that “comparison is a thief of joy” and that “life isn’t beautiful until we make it.” The session concluded with a message to seek help when needed and express one’s feelings openly.
Day 3: 28th July 2025
Morning Session 1: Time: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
As part of the Expert Talk Series, a thought-provoking session titled “IT and the Quest for a Sustainable Future” was conducted on 28th July for students of the BCA and BSc Data Science programs. The session was delivered by Mr. Supriyaranjan Kar, an accomplished IT professional from Kyndryl, based in Bengaluru. With extensive experience in technology leadership and innovation, Mr. Kar has been at the forefront of aligning digital transformation with ethical and environmental responsibility. In, his talk, Mr. Kar simplified complex global issues like climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, and rising temperatures, explaining their impact on health, the economy, and global supply chains through relatable, real-life examples. He underscored the critical role of the current generation in ensuring that global temperatures do not rise beyond 2°C. He highlighted how technologies such as IoT, smart grids, and Digital Twin systems are driving green innovations in energy and sustainability management. Drawing from his work as Director and Head of Global Sustainability and Social Impact Communication at Kyndryl, Mr. Kar inspired students to view IT not just as a career path but as a force for positive societal change. He urged students to embrace sustainable thinking and action, and to align their professional goals with the broader vision of a greener, more resilient future. Key takeaways from the session included adopting the 5Rs of sustainability — Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle, and using technology mindfully to solve real-world environmental challenges. The session concluded with a reminder that sustainability is not a distant goal but a daily practice, and that each of us, through small actions and informed choices, can contribute to building a better planet.
Morning Session 2: Time: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
The School of Computer Applications (SCA) at Dayananda Sagar University hosted a session on "Empowering students through engagement, wellness, and holistic development beyond the classroom" during AURORA – 2025, for the incoming batch of students. The session featured a keynote address by Ms. Shymantha, Deputy Director – Student Affairs, who shared inspiring insights on leading a balanced and purposeful campus life.
Her address focused on the importance of engagement in cultural and technical event, participating in sports and wellness activities, Volunteering in community service and NSS programs, Building soft skills and leadership qualities beyond academics.
A significant and thoughtful segment of the event was when Ms. Shymantha led the students in taking an oath, committing to:
- Say NO to ragging
- Say NO to drugs and substance abuse
- Support the Swachh Bharat Mission
- Promote unity, respect, and campus cleanliness
This initiative set a strong ethical foundation and highlighted the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and substance abuse, while promoting civic sense and social responsibility.
The session created a strong sense of belonging and responsibility among students. The oath-taking ceremony empowered students to act as responsible members of the DSU community. Many showed interest in signing up for various cultural clubs, sports teams, and NSS.
Afternoon Session: Time: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
On July 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM, Mr.Abhishek Gautam—Director of Product Growth (AI & Data) at Simplilearn—delivered a highly interactive and engaging session titled “From Students to Problem Solvers: Your Role in the Data Driven Economy”, hosted by Dayananda Sagar University. The session underscored the evolving role of students in a world increasingly shaped by data and AI. Mr.Gautam emphasized that students must transition from passive learning to active problem-solving, advocating for strong data literacy, critical thinking, and a proactive mindset. The format was deeply interactive—students were encouraged to participate actively, ask questions, and engage in group exercises. According to reliable accounts, the audience interacted enthusiastically throughout, making the session both collaborative and intellectually stimulating. In this session, Mr.Gautam also introduced ChatGPT as a powerful ally in student learning. He demonstrated how large language models can support prompt engineering, real-time exploration of complex topics, and self-directed learning tailored to individual needs. Drawing on recent research, he explained that tools like ChatGPT can improve student learning outcomes, particularly in problem-based contexts, where it acts as an intelligent tutor supporting higher-order thinking and comprehension. He, showed how such models help transform raw facts into meaningful dialogue, enabling learners to explore nuances through well-crafted prompts. He tied this back to the broader theme—developing the capacity not just to consume information but to interrogate data, generate insight, and craft solutions.
Day 4: 29th July 2025
Morning Session: Time: 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM
Day 4 of the Orientation Program for BCA and B.Sc (Data Science), 2025 Batch – Session 1 featured an inspiring session by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Venu CV—renowned Author, Mind Coach, Productivity Specialist, and Certified Memory Trainer. Drawing from his 21 years of experience in global companies like IBM and HCL Perot, Mr. Venu delivered a powerful talk on mental empowerment, productivity, and leadership. His interactive approach and real-world insights captivated the audience and encouraged students to unlock their full potential. He also introduced key ideas from his books—Pearls of Vedic Wisdom to Succeed, Master Your Skills to Succeed, and Empower Your Mind to Succeed—offering practical guidance on mastering life skills and understanding the science of the mind. The session was a motivating and transformative experience for the students as they step into a new academic journey.
Afternoon Session: Time: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
On 29th July 2025, from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m., an insightful session titled “Speak Up, Step Up, Skill Up” was conducted by Ms. Sharmila Rajasegaran, Assistant Director at the Kalinga Centre for Rainforest Ecology. The session focused on the vital art of public speaking, emphasizing its role in effectively communicating ideas to an audience with the intent to inform, persuade, or inspire. Ms. Rajasegaran highlighted that strong public speaking requires clarity of thought, confidence, expressive body language, and active audience engagement. She elaborated on how successful speakers connect with their audience by structuring messages logically and using techniques such as voice modulation, eye contact, and purposeful gestures. The session encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, stressing that consistent practice, thoughtful preparation, and familiarity with the subject matter are key to building confidence. Participants learned that tailoring messages to audience interests and seeking constructive feedback are essential steps in becoming impactful communicators. The session was both motivational and practical, equipping attendees with strategies to enhance their speaking abilities and leadership potential in academic, professional, and social environments.
Day 5-6: 30th July 2025
Morning Session: Time: 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM
Title: "The Mirror Within-A Journey to Self-Discovery"
On 30th and 31st July 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, an inspiring session was conducted by Dr. S. Senthil, Professor and Dean at DSU . He began by introducing himself and then took the students through a brief yet insightful journey of the Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI) — highlighting its legacy, growth, and commitment to academic excellence.
Dr. Senthil emphasized the importance of attitude in achieving success and shared motivational insights to help students develop the right mindset from the beginning of their academic journey. He also gave a brief overview of the curriculum structure, along with key rules and regulations that students are expected to follow.
The session was both informative and uplifting, leaving students with a deeper sense of belonging and a strong foundation to start their time at DSU.

Title: "Know Your Journey: Curriculum and Exam Orientation"
On 30th and 31st July 2025 from 2:00PM to 3:30PM an insightful session was led by Dr. Vasanthikumari P, Senior Professor in the Department of CSE at DSU. With her warm and welcoming tone, she addressed the newly joined students and introduced them to the academic environment at DSU. She provided a detailed overview of the curriculum structure, examination process, and how grades and credits are assigned throughout the semester.
Dr. Vasanthikumari also emphasized the importance of maintaining a minimum of 85% attendance, underscoring how discipline and consistency play a vital role in academic success. Encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones, she shared thoughtful insights on personal growth and the opportunities that await those who stay committed and open to learning. The session was informative, encouraging, and set a strong academic tone for the students.
Day 7: 01st Aug 2025
Morning Session: Time: 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM
Title: "Staying Safe in the Digital World"
A highly insightful and engaging guest session titled "Staying Safe in the Digital World" was conducted by Mr. Mohammad Tousif on 1st August 2025 at DSU. Mr. Tousif began the session by highlighting the growing importance of cybersecurity in the digital age. He introduced students to key areas such as cyber laws, the relevance of pursuing certification courses, and various types of cybersecurity threats that individuals and organizations face today .A major highlight of the session was a live demonstration of a phishing attack, where Mr. Tousif explained how attackers craft malicious links and how users can detect and avoid falling victim to such scams .The session also included several real-life case studies of cyber incidents, providing students with practical insights into the impact of cybercrimes and the evolving safety measures adopted by industries and governments alike. The session was both educational and eye-opening, equipping students with essential knowledge and awareness to stay secure in the digital landscape.
Afternoon Session: Time: 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM
Title: “Placement Orientation”
On the afternoon of August 1, 2025, a guest session titled “Placement Orientation” was conducted by Mr. Vijay Kumar S. at Gallery Hall 1, DSU City Campus. The session was attended by students of B.Sc. Data Science and BCA Sections A, B, and C. Mr. Vijay provided valuable insights into various aspects of career planning, including available training programs, potential career paths after BCA and B.Sc., internship opportunities, and the importance of industry exposure through visits. He also elaborated on the skill sets sought by employers, the campus placement process, and effective strategies for interview preparation. Most significantly, he outlined a clear and practical roadmap to guide students in shaping their professional journey. The session proved to be highly informative, motivational, and impactful for all participants.
Session on EC-Council Certifications (22nd July 2025)
The School of Computer Applications, in collaboration with CYNUX ERA, successfully hosted an engaging and informative session on EC-Council certifications for the MCA 1st Year students of Dayananda Sagar University. The session was led by Ms. Sujithra M., who provided valuable insights into globally recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) and CHFI (Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator). Her expert guidance offered students a clear understanding of industry expectations, career pathways, and the significance of certification in the evolving digital security landscape.
The session emphasized the growing demand for certified professionals in cybersecurity and the practical relevance of these credentials in securing career opportunities worldwide. Cyberseeds – Hands on Session (19th July 2025)
The School of Computer Applications at Dayananda Sagar University organized the inaugural session of the Cyberseed Program on 19th July 2025 under the guidance of Dean Dr. S. Senthil, specifically designed for Second Year MCA students. The program aimed to introduce students to the dynamic world of cybersecurity, combining foundational and intermediate-level learning with practical exposure to industry tools and platforms. The session focused on key areas such as ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, bug bounty programs, and AI security, aligning with the university’s vision of nurturing technically skilled and ethically grounded professionals.
The session was led by cybersecurity experts Mr. Mukesh Kumar Rao and Mr. Adarsh S Nair from AuthenticOne, Bengaluru. Mr. Rao began with the essential prerequisites for a cybersecurity career, including Linux commands, OS fundamentals, and networking concepts. He introduced students to hands-on platforms like TryHackMe and Hack The Box, emphasizing self-paced learning across different skill levels. The session also explored log analysis tools like VirusTotal and URLScan.io, and the significance of analyzing file systems for malware detection. A detailed discussion on various forms of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), including IoT, cloud, and space systems, was one of the session’s key highlights.
Mr. Adarsh’s session focused on bug bounty platforms such as HackerOne and YesWeHack, guiding students on how to ethically report security flaws and earn recognition. The importance of Vulnerability Disclosure Programs (VDPs) and safe harbor policies was also discussed. Throughout the session, both speakers emphasized the need for continuous learning, responsible ethical practices, and leveraging visual tools like Hacksplaining to understand real-world cyber threats. The Cyberseed session proved to be an enriching experience that laid a solid groundwork for students aspiring to build careers in the ever-evolving domain of cybersecurity.
MCA 2nd Sem Parent Teachers Meeting (12th July 2025)
The Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for the MCA 2nd Semester A and B Section students, organized by the School of Computer Applications, was conducted with the objective of fostering a strong collaborative relationship between faculty and parents to support students academic and personal development. The meeting provided a valuable platform for open dialogue, enabling discussions on students' academic progress, attendance records, engagement in classroom activities, behavioural aspects, and participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives.
Parents interacted included insightful discussions on strengths and areas of improvement, strategies for better academic performance, and advice on time management, skill development, and future career pathways. Faculty also addressed parental concerns related to curriculum, evaluation, placement opportunities, and university policies.
The PTM encouraged a spirit of collaboration and transparency, allowing parents to share their observations and aspirations for their children. Feedback and suggestions from parents were recorded to further enrich the teaching-learning process and enhance student support systems. Overall, the PTM proved to be a fruitful engagement that reinforced the institution's commitment to academic excellence, student well-being.
Faith in Action: Educational Visit to ISKCON and Akshaya Patra Foundation (9th and 10thJuly 2025)
As part of an educational and cultural enrichment initiative, MCA 2nd Semester “A” & “B” Section students of the School of Computer Applications visited The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralised kitchen and the ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill Temple on 9th & 10th July 2025. This visit aimed to provide a holistic perspective on how large-scale humanitarian efforts and spiritual teachings intersect to foster socially responsible and ethically grounded individuals. At Akshaya Patra, students gained insight into the operational excellence of India’s largest mid-day meal provider—learning about automated kitchen processes, quality standards, logistics, and the foundation’s mission to eradicate classroom hunger. The guided tour by Mr. Vinay offered students a practical understanding of technology-driven social impact, complementing their academic knowledge.
The second part of the visit took students to the ISKCON Vaikuntha Hill Temple, a serene spiritual retreat modelled on the Tirupati Balaji temple. Students experienced devotional practices like darshan, aarti, and meditation, and were introduced to ISKCON’s global spiritual initiatives through a seminar by Mr. Koushik. This session emphasized the importance of compassion, service, and value-based living. Faculty members also benefited through academic insights and potential curricular enhancements. Overall, the event supported interdisciplinary learning, spiritual awareness, and the university’s mission of education for empowerment and social transformation.
